USA-China Business Forum In The Metroplex on March 14th 2005
Vice Chairman (Vice Minister) of CCPIT The Honorable Zhang Wei will discuss the Current Sino-US Trade Relations, with focus on “Trade Imbalance?
DALLAS, Texas (March. 5th, 2005) ?CCPIT Dallas Office today announced that the Honorable Zhang Wei, Vice Chairman (Vice Minister equivalent) of CCPIT, will present a keynote address in the forthcoming USA-CHINA Business Forum (http://www.acfic.org) in the Metroplex.
Mr. Zhang will discuss the critical Sino-US trade relationship in the global economic landscape, with focus on trade imbalance.
According to Mr. Zhang, “although I do not believe in the near future, the trade imbalance will vanish, I firmly believe that both nations, within the current global economic and political landscapes, can collaborate and develop win-win relations.?SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> “By developing greater mutual understanding and respect, which is the aim of this Forum, I am confident that our two nations can avoid trade wars or sanctions,?according to Mr. Zhang.
“China, through CCPIT, is palpably demonstrating the Forum’s importance in the promotion of US-China trade,?said Da Hsuan Feng, one Forum’s Co-chairs. “I expect that this powerful trade delegation, led by the Honorable Zhang Wei, can be the business underpinning of the Metroplex and China, and by extrapolation, USA and China?
Mr. Zhang Wei graduated from Shanghai Finance and Economic University. He also holds a Doctor of Administration from Yale University’s School of Law. He was formerly Hainan Province’s Director of Agriculture Finance Division, Department of Finance and Taxation, Deputy Director General of the Department and concurrently leader of the Xinghua Company and Deputy Director General of Hainan Provincial Revenue Bureau.
In the 90’s, Mr.Zhang became Executive Deputy Director General, and eventually Director General of the Agriculture Taxation Bureau of the State Taxation Administration. In March 2003, he became the Vice-Chairman of CCPIT. Currently, he is also a member of China Taxation Institute, China Finance Institute and China Law Institute. He is Professor of Law of Peking University, with research interests in macro-economics, finance, taxation, investment and accounting.
The Forum is Co-organized by CCPIT, UT Dallas, American Chinese Federation of Industry and Commerce, Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce, Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, Southern Methodist University, Association of Chinese Professional and Fort Worth International Center.
