Dr. Da Hsuan Feng is currently Vice President for Research and Graduate Education and Professor of Physics of The University of Texas at Dallas.
He received his doctorate in physics from the University of Minnesota. Prior to his working at UTD, he was M. Russell Wehr Chair Professor of Physics of Drexel University and a vice president for Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), a Fortune 500 company. Since coming to the Metroplex, Feng has been an active promoter of intellectual and commercial efforts for UTD and various communities. He is an honorary professor of six distinguished Chinese universities and serve as advisory board member of several private Chinese companies. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of CellStar, a Dallas based company with significant business in China.
Dr. Wei Zhang is currently Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and China Chamber of International Commerce (CCIC).CCPIT is the largest NGO institution for the promotion of foreign trade in China.
Dr. Zhang completed his Doctor of Administration from Yale University's law school, and was formerly Director General of the State Administration of Taxation, the Chinese equivalent of the Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Services of the United States.
Dr. Hasan Pirkul is Caruth Professor of Management Information Systems and has been the Dean of The School of Management (SOM) of UTD for the last decade.
Dr. Pirkul received his doctorate in computer information systems from the University of Rochester and was a Professor of Management Information Systems of the Fisher School of Management of Ohio State University before assuming his position at UTD. Dr. Pirkul is also very active in Dallas' various communities, including Dallas Committee on Foreign Relations, Dallas Council on World Affairs, Dallas Morning News Technology Board, Metroplex Technology Business Council (MTBC), Dallas Chamber of Commerce Technology Business Council .
Dr. Niemi is the dean of the Edwin L. Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University (SMU) and holds the Tolleson Chair in Business Leadership. His areas of expertise are economic growth, economic forecasting, and American business history. Dr. Niemi earned the M.A and Ph.D. degrees in economics from the University of Connecticut. Since arriving at the Cox School of Business, Dr. Niemi has increased the school's national visibility. Cox's BBA, MBA, Professional MBA, and Executive MBA programs are ranked among the best in the world by Business Week, Wall Street Journal, U.S. News & World Report, Forbes, Financial Times, and the Economist. Dr. Niemi is an effective fund-raiser, and he has increased the school's endowment from $78 million to more than $130 million. Dr. Niemi is active in the business community and speaks to numerous civic and business groups across the nation. In 1992, he was named the best regular feature writer in the nation by the Association of Area Business Publications. Dr. Niemi serves on the boards of Sanders Morris Harris Group, Inc. (SMHG) and Titanium Metal Corporation (TIE). He also serves on the advisory boards of TXU and Bank of Texas.
